Aim of the courses

Early Pregnancy

Day one is Early Pregnancy Ultrasound, designed for practitioners who wish to increase their point-of-care skills in early pregnancy ultrasound.  The course covers anatomy, physiology and pathology of the pelvis, imaging of early pregnancy techniques, physical principals and safety and limitations of scanning.  Practical scanning of live patients for three hours is included during the day.  The presentation has been forwarded to ASUM for accreditation, which is pending.

Basic Echocardiography in Life Support

Day two is Basic Echocardiography in Life Support Ultrasound, designed for practitioners who wish to increase their point-of-care skills in basic echocardiography ultrasound.  The course covers normal heart structures and IVC, how to interpret qualitative assessment of the IVC, LV/RV size, LV contractibility, the integration of the clinical picture and BELS findings and the role of BELS in ongoing resuscitation.  Practical scanning of live patients for four hours is included during the day.  The presentation has been forwarded to ASUM for accreditation, which is pending.
